Why a loft room needs more cooling than the rest of the house
Heat rises, and a loft catches it twice over: warm air from the whole house drifts up to the top storey, while the roof above soaks up sun all day and radiates it straight down into the room. But if the conversion creates a bedroom plus an en-suite or a separate study, a multi-split system runs two or more indoor units from one outdoor unit — neater and cheaper than two entirely separate systems, and it keeps a single outdoor unit on the wall rather than two.
