How our guides are written and checked
The rules behind every cost guide, brand page and how-to on this site, and how to tell us when one is wrong.
Written for the person paying
Our guides exist so that someone about to spend money on air conditioning — a bedroom split, a whole-house multi-split, a shop or office system — knows what the job involves, what it should roughly cost, and what to ask an engineer before they commit. If a page does not help with one of those, it does not get published.
Rules and equipment
Statements about the regulations that govern this work — F-Gas certification for anyone handling refrigerant, Building Regulations Part L, planning considerations for outdoor units — are checked against the current government and industry guidance before publication and at each review. Equipment descriptions are taken from the manufacturers’ own published specifications, and we say which manufacturer a figure relates to.
What money does and does not buy
Air Con Surrey is paid by the engineers and partner networks we introduce customers to, never by customers; the arrangement is on how we get paid. That fee does not influence what we write. No manufacturer, installer or supplier can pay to be recommended, to have a cost range moved, or to appear ahead of anyone else, and we do not publish sponsored content or paid reviews.
Only real ones
We do not write, invent or embellish customer reviews, and we do not attach ratings or review counts to anything that does not come from real, countable reviews.
Tell us and we will fix it
Every page shows when it was last updated. If a figure looks wrong, a rule has changed or a link is dead, use the contact page and say which page. Reports are checked against the source and material corrections are made on the page itself. Guides are reviewed when the guidance or equipment they describe changes and at least once a year.
