How we get paid

Air Con Surrey is free for the people who use it. Here is exactly how the business makes money — and what we will never accept payment for.

Free for you, funded by referral fees

Like most matching services, we are paid by the supply side, not by consumers.

When you request quotes through Air Con Surrey, we pass your enquiry to vetted local air conditioning engineers — either directly or through partner networks that manage panels of trades. Those networks and engineers pay us a fee for the introduction. That fee is how the site is funded: it pays for the guides, the cost research and the vetting checks, and it is why we never need to charge you.

You will never receive an invoice from Air Con Surrey, and there is no premium tier, no subscription and no obligation to accept any quote you receive.

The fee never changes the price you pay

Engineers treat referral fees as a marketing cost — an alternative to advertising — and they quote for your job on its merits: the equipment, the labour and the access involved. The fee we receive is not added to your quote, and an engineer who wins work through us is competing against other quotes you gather, which keeps pricing honest. We always encourage you to compare at least two or three quotes, including from installers you find yourself.

No pay-for-rankings, no paid reviews

Two things are off the table, permanently:

  • Rankings are not for sale. No engineer or network can pay to be matched more often, placed above another, or described more favourably. Matching is based on location, availability and the type of work you need.
  • Reviews and editorial are not for sale. We do not accept payment, free products or commission in exchange for reviews, ratings or recommendations. Our brand pages are editorial and unpaid: no manufacturer sponsors them, and none has any say in what they contain.

If a commercial relationship would compromise either principle, we don't enter into it. Questions about any of this are welcome via our contact page.

FAQs

No. The referral fee is paid by the engineer or partner network as a marketing cost and is not added to your quote. Engineers quote for the job itself — equipment, labour and access — and they know you may be comparing their price against other quotes, which keeps pricing competitive.
No. Rankings and matching are never for sale. We match enquiries based on location, availability and the type of work required. No engineer or network can pay for preferential placement or a more favourable description.
No. Our brand pages are editorial and unpaid. No manufacturer pays to appear, sponsors the content, or has any input into what we write. We describe brands based on published specifications, warranty terms and the UK market as we find it.
