We exist to take the legwork out of finding a good air conditioning engineer.
Air Con Surrey is a free matching service. Tell us what you need — a single wall-mounted unit for a bedroom, a multi-split for the whole house, or a commercial system for an office or shop — and we match your enquiry with vetted local engineers who can quote for the work. You compare the quotes and choose who to hire; the contract is between you and the engineer you pick.
Our roots and our strongest coverage are in Surrey and the South of England, but the service works UK-wide. Wherever you are, the engineers we match you with are local to you, not to us.
Using Air Con Surrey never costs you anything, and requesting quotes carries no obligation to go ahead.
How we vet the engineers we match you with
Anyone handling refrigerant in the UK must be F-Gas certified by law — so that is where our checks start, not where they end.
Before an engineer can receive enquiries through Air Con Surrey, we check three things:
- F-Gas certification. We verify that the business holds a valid F-Gas company certificate (for example through REFCOM or an equivalent certification body). Installing, servicing or decommissioning air conditioning without it is illegal in the UK.
- Insurance. We ask for evidence of current public liability insurance appropriate to the work they take on.
- Trading history. We look at how long the business has been trading and check Companies House records and publicly available feedback for red flags such as recent dissolutions or repeated complaints.
Vetting is a screening process, not a guarantee. We still recommend you compare more than one quote, ask to see certification, and satisfy yourself before signing anything — our guides explain what to look for.
We don't install, and we don't take sides
Air Con Surrey is not an installation company. We never quote for work, we don't employ engineers, and we are not the manufacturer's representative for any brand. Our brand pages are editorial: no manufacturer pays to appear on them or to be recommended, and no engineer can pay to be ranked above another.
That independence is the point of the service. Because we don't profit from any particular brand or system type, we can describe the market as it is — including when air conditioning is not the right answer for your property.
