1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember things between pages and visits. We keep our use of them deliberately minimal: one strictly necessary cookie, plus optional analytics that only run if you agree.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the site to work and do not need consent:
- acs_consent — records the cookie choice you made in our consent banner (accept or decline), so we don't ask you on every visit and so analytics stays off if you declined. Stored for 12 months.
- Session cookie — a temporary cookie that keeps your quote-form progress together as you move between steps. It is deleted when you close your browser.
3. Optional analytics cookies
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the site is used — which pages are read, where visitors drop out of the quote form, and roughly where our traffic comes from. This helps us improve the site.
Analytics is consent-gated: GA4 cookies are only set after you press "Accept" in the cookie banner. Until then, we run Google Consent Mode v2 in its default denied state, which sends limited, cookieless pings to Google that do not identify you and set nothing on your device. If you decline, it stays that way.
4. Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time: click "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page to reopen the consent banner and switch analytics on or off. Withdrawing consent stops new analytics cookies being set; you can also delete existing cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers additionally let you block cookies entirely, though blocking the strictly necessary cookies may stop the quote form from working.
