How this calculator works

Servicing is priced by time on site, and time follows the number of indoor heads — each one has filters, a coil and a condensate drain to clean and test. That is why a four-head multi-split costs roughly double a single split rather than four times as much: the outdoor unit and the paperwork are done once.

The reason to bother is not just airflow. A refrigerant pressure check catches a slow leak while it is still a leak; left alone it starves the compressor, which is the one failure that usually writes off the unit. If you would rather fix the cost, our maintenance contract guide compares annual plans against pay-per-visit.

On F-Gas: anything touching the refrigerant circuit legally requires an F-Gas certified engineer. Every engineer Air Con Surrey matches you with is vetted and F-Gas certified — but it is still worth asking to see the certificate before work starts.

Filter clean or replacement, coil and drain-pan clean, condensate drain check, refrigerant pressure check for leaks, electrical connections, and a performance test on both cooling and heating.
Usually yes. The major manufacturers require documented annual servicing to keep a 5–7 year warranty valid, so keep every invoice and report.
Once a year for a domestic split, ideally in spring before the first hot spell. Ducted and VRF systems, and anything coastal or dusty, may want six-monthly attention.
